Dr. Syeda Saiyidain Hameed is a feminist and activists, educationist, writer, who is widely recognized for her passionate engagement in public affairs and social issues, especially for women, minorities and peace. She is a former Member of the National Commission for Women and a former member of the Planning Commission of India. She has engaged with several Indian and international civil society organizations in initiating path breaking changes. She is founder of organizations besides Muslim Women’s Forum, Women’s Initiative for peace in South Asia (WIPSA), South Asians for Human Rights (SAHR) and the Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation. Current affiliations includes, Khwaja Ahmed Abbas Memorial Trust, National Foundation of India, The Hunger Project: Global Board Member, Population Foundation of India, Janvikas, Centre for Social Justice, Action Aid etc.

Dr. Safia Mehdi pursued her MA in Economics from Aligarh Muslim University and her Ph.D from Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, on ‘Macro-Economic Analysis of Road Transport in India: Case Study of Road Transport Undertakings’. She has over twenty papers, articles and book reviews to her credit.

Humaira Rehan Rahman worked in the retail industry for over 3 decades and is currently supporting the cultural outreach and organisational work of the Trust .

Gagan Sethi is a Development Educator, Organizational Development expert and Gender trainer. He has set up several strategic organizations in the country like Drishti, Centre for Social Justice and HID Forum. Among his areas of expertise is Human and Institutional development, training, designing organizational development interventions, moderation and strategic planning.

Professor Akhtarul Wasey was a professor of Islamic studies at Jamia Millia Islamia (National Islamic University) in New Delhi. Currently he is working as President of Maulana Azad University, Jodhpur, India.

Shahrukh Alam read Law at the National Law School of India and the London School of Economics, from where she graduated in 2001. She started to practice law at the Supreme Court of India in March 2015. In the interim years, she helped found a research collective called ‘the Patna Collective’, which engaged with the question of ‘Faith in Modern Democracies’. Shahrukh Also worked as a Consultant with Dr. Syeda Hameed at the Planning Commission. She has a second research degree in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics. Her thesis was an ethnographic study of the five-year plan process viz-a-vis the minorities.
Dr. Azra Abidi is a professor in the Department of Sociology, Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. Her area of Specialisation includes Women Studies, Muslims in South Asia, Sociology of Education and Sociology of Marginal.
